Richard & Tor Lowry have been creating independent
movies for the world market for 20 years. Their first
movie, Hawk Jones, was made when
they were both teenagers. Hawk Jones became their first
commercial success. HJ was also one of the only movies
to feature an all-child cast.
Through the 1990s Richard directed a number of movies.
One of them, Jessica, a thriller
shot in the early 90s, became one of the most profitable
movies for its distributor: Omega Pictures.

In 1999 Richard once again teamed up with his brother,
Tor, and created Destination Mars!.
A satirical look at the 1950s sci-fi films written by
Tor and directed by Richard. The movie premiered at
the Harry Knowles film festival and became an instant
hit. Destination Mars has been
released on DVD with Monarch of
the Moon as a double feature.
Richard's next movie, The Wicksboro
Incident, premiered at the New York Film Festival
and the Hollywood Film Festival. Directed by Richard
and co-written by Richard & Tor the movie received
positive reviews and is currently available on DVD.
Their latest feature, Monarch
of the Moon, is an action packed six chapter serial
in the style of the old Flash Gordon movies. Directed
by Richard Lowry, produced by Dark
Horse Entertainment, with visual effects by Tor
Lowry and Filmworksfx,
Monarch of the Moon has just
been released on DVD by Image Entertainment.
Richard Lowry's epic short film, Quietus,
will soon be available online and on DVD. An
eerie, apocalyptic look at our planet thousands of years
in the future. All life is extinct. Various remnants
of our cities are still standing. Amidst all of this
are two alien visitors who roam the planet, studying
it, collecting samples, recording data.
During the survey, a faint
S.O.S signal is detected by the aliens, and they follow
it to a massive underground chamber containing hundreds
of pods. Within each pod is a human fetus, in perfect
hibernation...
